Noble Park Chess Club Inc. has been running since August 2006.. The chess club meets on Saturday afternoons at Paddy O'Donoghoue Centre(to look at some photos, click on venue) from 2pm onwards, with doors opening at 1:30. Paddy O'Donoghoue Centre is located on 18-32 Buckley Street, Noble Park 3174(Melway 89 E3). The venue is 1-2 minute walking distance from Noble Park train station and there is plenty of free parking available. Noble Park Chess Club has achieved a lot during its brief existence. In December 2006, the club organised Dandenong International Chess Festival( see events),a tournament which incorporated Australian Masters and Reserves.Australian Masters was a tournament that featured two grandmasters and some of the best players in the state. Noble Park Chess Club has also ran strong tournaments such as allegros (15 minutes per player) and Noble Park Chess Club Open (see events). Noble Park Chess Club is a club that attracts IM, FM and a lot of 2000+ rated players. The turnout for Noble Park Chess Club has been good and the club is looking to grow in 2007 and beyond. All people regardless of playing strength are welcome to visit the Club and join us in this great new phenomenon in chess.
